Some places in our Around America series are so big and boozy that we need to return and explore some more. That's definitely true of Chicago. In our last Chicago posts, we stayed in The Loop at the historic Palmer Hotel, ate and drank at Exchequer, and finished the night taking some blues at Buddy Guy's Legends with a number of double Seven and Sevens.
This time we'll go just north of The Loop, across the Chicago River to the River North neighborhood, arguably more congenial to a cocktail lover's taste. But before we take on a night of drinking, it's best to grab a bite to eat, so we headed into River North's Green Door Tavern for a burger.
