It has been long overdue to give a few nods to the boys and girls that make up the regulars at the Firewater Lounge.
All of them have been highly
influential in all the creative aspects of the drink from building
the pour to naming cocktails. One of the best drinks born and named
by a rager of the Lounge is the immortal M.J. McNuts. A potent riff
of the Black Russian, the McNuts kicks your butt on the sly, but if
you know the namesake of the drink, you would understand how the
drink operates. It’s strong, but sweet; it could take advantage of
you, but it doesn’t. It’s too smooth not to drink, but too
powerful for you to have more than one. You can’t puke one up
without feeling bad about it. It’s great, but mainly just coffee.
It’s just plain. Just plain awesome.
M.J.'s McNuts
Holly's Original
2 ½ ounces coffee liquor (we like
Kamora)
2 ½ ounces macadamia liquor
1 ounce Drambuie
Build all ingredients in an old
fashioned glass over ice. Stir. Drink. Chill.
