Holly's Original
2 ounces Old Sugar’s dry honey
liqueur
2 ounces Don’s mix
Juice of 1/4 of a lime
2 heavy dashes of Peychaud’s bitters
Remember how to prepare Don’s? Make
some cinnamon syrup. I used 1 ½ cups of water with 1 ½ cups of
sugar with six short cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, reduce heat
and simmer uncovered for at least half an hour. Cool. Mix pink
grapefruit juice into syrup at a 2:1 ratio. Voila, Don’s mix. For
the cocktail, pour all ingredients into a shaker. Shake vigorously.
Strain into an iced Collins glass and garnish with a swath of
grapefruit or cherries or both
