Holly's Blueberry Spice Syrup

For all the teetotalers out there, we thought that we'd throw you a bone and give you a recipe that you can mix with citrus, 7up, or even pancakes. It's my very own Blueberry Spice Syrup and here's how to make it...

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
2 ounces blueberries
1/2 tsp. cardamom
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. freshly grated nutmeg

Add the water, sugar, and blueberries to a medium saucepan. Smash the blueberries into pulp. Add the spices. Bring this to a boil, reduce to half (a quarter for pancake syrup!). Strain.

Now this syrup is excellent in 7up or orange juice, but this is a Lounge for goodness sake, bring on the liquor!

NOLA Blueberry Streetcar

3 ounces gin (or Southern Comfort)
2 1/2 ounces blueberry spice
1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
Drop or two of Herbsaint

Shake the gin, syrup, and lemon juice on ice. Strain and serve with a drop or two of Herbsaint.

Raging Coatimundi

2 ounces tequila blanco
2 1/2 ounces blueberry spice
3/4 ounce blue curaçao
1/2 of a fresh squeezed lime juice

Shake all on ice. Strain and serve.
