White Tiger's Milk

As you read the recipe for the White Tiger's Milk, you'd probably swear that this drink should have been in Holly's Originals since it seems like a drink made after a 1:00 a.m. screening of The Big Lebowski, but, rest assured, it's a classic.
This is a close approximation of the master Jerry Thomas' 1887 version from his groundbreaking tome How to Mix Drinks. Instantly appealing to MJ and Cindy, I like to make this with peach syrup when peaches are in season and mix it with cognac in lieu of the peach brandy. Either Thomas' way or mine, this Tiger is ready to warm you for the holidays.

White Tiger's Milk
Classic Pours Series

1 ounce applejack
1 ounce peach brandy
1/4 - 1/2 ounce agave syrup (to taste)
Dash of Angostura bitters
2 ounces of whole milk

Build and stir in a rocks glass. Drink it, you'll like it.

  1. came across this drink on Flickr, linked back to your blog. Haven't really tried using milk in drinks very much before, but this looks like a great recipe! :)

  2. Peach syrup is really good with milk as a mocktail for the kids/non-drinkers/hangover too. To make it, dissolve 1 1/2 cups of sugar into equal parts water in a saucepan over med heat. Then put in 4-5 sliced peaches and reduce for 20 minutes or so. Strain.
